Jan 25 2015 - The Second Annual Gala

On Sunday evening January 25, 2015, John Hutar rolled out the red carpet and ASEF enjoyed its biggest gala as over 100 people enjoyed dinner, entertainment, and inspiring presentations at the beautiful Sofitel Hotel in Redwood City. People came from all over the US for the event and the earlier Board meeting.

Norm and Alice Gary and Mia and France Rode were honored for hosting students in 2014. ASEF thanked Santa Clara University and its President Fr. Michael Engh, S.J. for the incredible assistance both have played in helping our fledgling organization get off the ground. In 2014 we had three students participate at Stanford and Santa Clara University, and in 2015 we will add UC, UCSF, USC, UCLA, and Georgia Tech.

Highlights of the evening included the presentation of ASEF Lifetime Achievement Awards to Zvonko Fazarinc and France Rode, and the powerful remarks made by Congresswoman Anna Eshoo about the American Dream, the role of immigrants, and the role of Slovenians.
