I absolutely love the vibe of Ljubljana. People here know how to indulge in and enjoy their lives. Many friends I’ve met have found a healthy balance between work and leisure. Like any big city there is hustle and bustle, but since the city center does not allow cars, the streets have a unique and enchanting social scene. People are constantly meeting up at charming cafes near the river, enjoying the many musical events in the parks, and riding their bikes over the various bridges and small cobbled streets. So far, my favorite thing about Ljubljana is the Open Kitchen Market every Friday. Open all day, it is a great spot to grab some of the best food and drinks from around Slovenia and hang out on the steps of the Cathedral.
This summer, I work for both the American Slovenian Education Foundation and TRUD Travel Agency. With TRUD, I work with the incoming tourism sector to create a marketing strategy for implementing tours throughout Slovenia’s regions. Slovenia is rich in cultural heritage and has so much to offer those who travel here. I am excited to be a part of expanding Slovenia’s distinct cultural brand to new consumers. I am also honored to be working directly with the people who have helped make this experience possible. At the ASEF office in Ljubljana, I am helping create branding and marketing content for the website, social media sites, and upcoming newsletters. Since most of my work is on my laptop, so I am taking this opportunity to find cool cafes and explore study spaces to work in around the city.
